'I Killed My Wife', NJ Man Tells Cops: Prosecutor

A 60-year-old East Brunswick man has been arrested and charged after he admitted to killing his wife on Friday, Feb. 28, authorities said.

At 12:14 p.m., Ashraf Tawfik walked into the East Brunswick Police Department and told them he killed his wife, Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Chief Frank LoSacco of the East Brunswick Police Department said.

Authorities responded to his residence on Yorktown Road and found Marsail Botros, 58, of East Brunswick, dead at the scene, authorities said. Tawfik was arrested without incident and charged with murder in the first degree and multiple weapons offenses, authorities said.

Tawfik is being held at the Middlesex County Adult Correctional Center, authorities said.
